Faes accuses Vox of supporting Trump's tariffs and trusting "Stormy Daniels' client"

The Faes Foundation, chaired by José María Aznar, has taken a strong political position regarding Vox's relations with the new US president, Donald Trump, due to his participation in the Washington summit and, among other issues, his alignment with Vladimir Putin's Russia. In a published note, the conservative think tank points out that "it does not seem very patriotic or right-wing to applaud retaliatory tariffs against Spanish products." It also does not spare criticism when defining presidents Trump and Putin, with whom the Spanish far right, which is described as "patriotic Trumpism," seeks alliances.
It does not seem very patriotic, Faes' note continues under the title “Raised arm”, to support the “victory of a KGB colonel”, in a reflection that goes from Russia to Washington: “Confusing Putin's Russia – a mafia-like kleptocracy – with the fulfillment of the promises of Fatima is as picturesque as trusting Stormy Daniels' client – the porn actress – with the restoration of traditional morality”, indicates the foundation.
Faes marks a clear distance from Santiago Abascal's party in terms of unwavering support for Trump, a distance also clear with respect to the new orientation in the White House. A position that Alberto Núñez Feijóo's PP has so far been more moderate. Aznar already expressed his concern about Trump's victory last November, and considered that it was not "good news for Spain or the EU" as it embodies a protectionist and isolationist populism. He also recalled his institutional challenge in the attempted assault on the Capitol.
The conservative foundation reminds Abascal that his allies consider Le Pen “the cowardly far-rightist”Faes attacks the Washington convention, held a week ago, which included the participation of Abascal. “A convention that was as conservative as Palmar de Troya was Catholic. A conclave where many arms were raised,” the note states, and the surrender of the participants to “Holy Russia” was seen. It is also recalled that not even Giorgia Meloni’s message to consider the West as a whole between the United States and Europe was heeded. Aznar’s foundation stresses that Vox left the group of European Conservatives and Reformists in Brussels to join “Putin’s fifth column.”
To conclude his reflection, Faes says that Vox should ask itself what it is doing in a group where Le Pen's party is called "cowardly far-right". "Worry: you will only be able to compete with Genghis Khan," he concludes.
